Guilherme Jaime de Castro is a 5th year medical student from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is specially interested in the fields of Global Health and Public Health policy, as well as in their intersections with Medical Education.
He has done voluntary work at a university admission preparatory course aimed to low-income students, teaching Portuguese for three years. He has also worked with exchanges and administrative activities at his IFMSA local committee, as well as taken elective courses in Political Science.
Today, Guilherme aims to work and pursue a master degree in his fields of interest, after completing his MBBS. His main motivation is the way the abyssal social disparities in his country are reflected in people’s access to healthcare, besides the impact of this issue in the Global Health context.
