Catarina Pais Rodrigues is a medical graduate from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Her diploma thesis consisted in a detailed review of the medical school’s curriculum with the aim to identify best practices and strategies to develop clinical reasoning amongst medical students.
She has been involved in medical education for over 7 years. As a student leader, she held different roles in pedagogical committees which required her to become well acquainted with teaching and assessment methodologies, quality assurance mechanisms and the challenges of curriculum implementation. In 2018-19, she served as Director of the Standing Committee on Medical Education at the International Federation Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), where she learnt about medical education systems worldwide and how we can leverage diversity to find creative and comprehensive solutions to improve medical education.
Catarina is interested to pursue her passion for health professions’ education. Currently, she is leading an alliance of student organisations and coordinates the development of educational content on identified curricular gaps such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or Planetary Health.
