Dr Claire de Burbure joined the WFME team in 2015, working in an honorary part-time capacity as the European academic lead on the World Directory of Medical Schools. She works at the Université catholique de Louvain in Brussels, both as Invited Lecturer in Health Sciences and as recently appointed Administrative Coordinator to their newly built Clinical Skills Centre.
After taking her medical degree at the University of Cambridge in the UK, she completed a PhD in Environmental Medicine and Public Health at UCL-Health Sciences, where she created the new unit of International Relations. She teaches histopathology and scientific writing, and has published extensively in these subjects as well as in medical education.
Dr de Burbure supports WFME links with Francophone medical schools and works on the new edition of the WFME Standards.
