Professor Ivana Oborná

Professor Ivana Oborná, M.D., Ph.D. is an external evaluator of the Czech National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education, where she carries out evaluation of higher education institutions for medicine and non-medical healthcare professions. She was a vice-chair for the Fulbright Commission, a Czech-American governmental organisation founded with the mission to enhance educational, scientific and cultural exchanges through scholarship programmes, advising and information services.

After her tenure as the Vice-Dean for International Relations and Study in English for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Palacký University Olomouc, she was appointed the Vice-Rector for International Relations at Palacký University Olomouc. In her time as the Vice-Rector, she heavily focused on the internationalisation of the University. In the fields of research and teaching, she established many international alliances in several countries, mainly within Europe and Asia.

Ivana Oborná started her professional career at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University Hospital Olomouc where she practised gynaecology and assisted reproduction, subjects she is also lecturing. Her interest in education is in the development of contextually appropriate and well-integrated curricula. In 2001 she received a Ph.D. for her research on endometrial receptivity, in 2005 she was awarded the title Associate Professor and in 2016 the title Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She currently continues to practise gynaecology and assisted reproduction at a private IVF clinic.
