P T Jayawickramarajah, MBBS (Colombo), MEd (Illinois), PhD (Groningen), PhD (Southampton), FcollP is the Patron and Ex-president of the College of Medical Educationists of Sri Lanka. He became the first Professor in Medical Education in the Sri Lankan University system. He was formerly Head of Medical Education at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka; the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain; and Eastern University, Sri Lanka. He served in WHO as a Regional Advisor for Human Resources Development for Health in SEARO and WHO Representative to Thailand. He has made several contributions to literature in medical education, advocated innovations in medical education, and popularized Problem-Based Learning in medical schools in South East Asia.
