Professor David Taylor

David Taylor is the Professor of Medical Education and Physiology at Gulf Medical University in Ajman, United Arab Emirates.  He has been involved in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation for more than 30 years. David worked at the Medical School of the University of Liverpool for 35 years, serving in many roles, where he developed his research in the areas of problem-based learning, professionalism and the buildings of educational communities. Since 2004 David has also been an associate of the General Medical Council, involved in the Quality Assurance of Basic Medical Education.  He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of the UK, and a UK National Teaching Fellow.  In his current roles he is program director for a joint Master’s program in Health Professions Education, based in Ajman,  and the editor of the AMEE Guides.
