A five-year plan for the World Federation for Medical Education

July 22, 2021

WFME has made great progress over the last five years, and has established a steering group to plan for the next five years. The steering group met for the first time on 20 July 2021. We hope that the plan will be an important item for discussion at the WFME World Conference in Cairo in October 2022.

The first draft of a framework for the five-year plan has been prepared and some of the themes discussed are:

  • International status of WFME.
  • What is unique about WFME?
  • What more could be done to spread the word about WFME standards?
  • Role of Regional Associations for Medical Education within the WFME governance structure.

If you feel like commenting on the above four themes, please feel free to send your ideas to admin@wfme.org. The five-year plan steering group will be happy to read your comments!
