WFME Conference has a dedicated website
After careful consideration, WFME has agreed to postpone its next international conference in Cairo, Egypt. The conference is now expected to take place in April 2023. The preparations for the event are, nevertheless, moving forward and WFME is pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated conference website.
WFME spoke at the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in HE webinar
In cooperation with the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE), WFME presented the WFME Recognition of Accreditation programme to institutions from Arab countries in order to increase interest for the programme in the area.
President of SEARAME presented the WFME Standards at the People’s Representative Assembly of Indonesia
Titi Savitri, the President of SEARAME, spoke on behalf of WFME to the People’s Representative Assembly of Indonesia, the highest body in the Indonesian Government System. The Indonesian parliament is in the process of revising laws relating to medical education.
AQU awarded Recognition Status
WFME is pleased to announce that the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (AQU) in Catalonia, Spain has been awarded Recognition Status by the World Federation of Medical Education. The agency has been recognised for the full term of 10 years.
CAAM-HP Recognition Status extended to 2023
WFME Recognition Status for the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) was due to expire at the end of May 2022. Renewal would normally depend on assessment of a new application from CAAM-HP, including observation of a CAAM-HP site visit to a medical school seeking accreditation.
AQACHEI awarded Recognition Status

New set of WFME standards for distributed and distance learning in medical education
WFME is pleased to announce that a team lead by Professor Janet Grant developed a new set of WFME standards – WFME Standards for Distributed and Distance Learning in Medical Education (DDL).
A five-year plan for the World Federation for Medical Education
WFME has made great progress over the last five years, and has established a steering group to plan for the next five years. The steering group met for the first time on 20 July 2021.
