New Annual Monitoring Fee for WFME-recognised Agencies

New Annual Monitoring Fee for WFME-recognised Agencies

The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) is committed to upholding the highest standards in medical education worldwide through supporting accrediting agencies and their quality assurance processes. As part of this commitment, WFME reviews and assesses annual monitoring reports submitted by recognised agencies. These reports require a significant investment of resources, but are crucial for ensuring ongoing compliance with WFME Recognition Criteria and for supporting continuous improvement in medical education programmes globally.

Annual Monitoring Fee Implementation

Starting 1 January 2025, WFME will introduce an annual monitoring fee of $2,000 USD to support the continuing comprehensive evaluation of reports. This fee will be applied to each annual monitoring report and is essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of our review processes.

Rationale for the Fee

Over the past years, the volume and complexity of annual monitoring reports have grown, necessitating a more substantial investment in both human and technical resources to ensure rigorous and timely reviews.

The fee will be invoiced when the annual monitoring is opened in January and the payment will be due by the end of March each year, coinciding with the deadline for the completion of the annual monitoring reports.

WFME remains dedicated to supporting recognised agencies in their mission to deliver high-quality medical education. We believe this will enhance our ability to provide robust oversight and guidance, ultimately benefiting medical education institutions and their students globally.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. For any questions or further information, please do not hesitate to contact us at accreditation@wfme.org.

Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence in medical education.
