The WFME President, Professor Ricardo León-Bórquez, and WFME Operations Manager, Mrs. Barbora Hrabalová, engaged with the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) during the 72nd IFMSA March Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia. Their presence allowed for productive discussions on accreditation and quality assurance in medical education.

Professor León’s address at the IFMSA General Assembly inspired students to actively participate in improving medical education systems. Through the Standing Committee of Medical Education (SCOME) Sessions, he shared insights on student engagement in accreditation and quality assurance, empowering participants to advocate for change. Additionally, a roundtable discussion facilitated dialogue on national AQA challenges, with Professor León offering guidance to IFMSA Member Nations.

Overall, the collaboration between WFME and IFMSA during the meeting contributed to advancing student involvement and we hope to continue being part of these important discussions.
